The Song (The Story): Part One

I have been singing to you for thousands of years, and the song is so familiar to us both.
I have been feeling you near for thousands of lives, and our closeness feels so familiar to us both.
I have been searching and finding, wanting and losing for thousands of years, and the pattern is so familiar to me.
You have followed my voice, and been soothed by it, and been comforted by it, and been hypnotized by it a thousand times, and it is strangely familiar to you.

But a fire burns inside you that you can't find a place for, and instead it drives you mad, and it drives you away.
And a river runs through me as deep as eternity, that drives me forward with hope, with faith, with trust.
And these two elements have been at odds since the beginning, when someone told them they should be.
But they have not met without doubt, without fear, without unfounded convictions. And so they have never known it to be untrue.

Until now, when something as old as time speaks to us both, and we close our eyes and lean forward until we feel ourselves falling...

falling...

out of doubt
out of fear
out of a thousand wasted years.

And the far away song hums softly in the universe around us, and everything begins to have a purpose and a place...

And I sing softer, closer, softer, closer...

And the song finds you, like it has a thousand times before... And it starts to move inside of you, and something stirs that has been still.

But your fears are far away, and you take your hand from your eyes, and the light filters in little by little by little...
