Golden Child

You were so deep inside my heart.
You grew there from the inside out,
Like a child grows inside it's mother.
She loves the child as part of herself
Before she sees it as a separate being.
A mother's love is so much deeper.

How did you start there-
In that part of my heart,
In that place in my tummy,
Like my own child...?

My concern for all your troubles
Far surpassing any I had known-
Even for my own.
My Love for you-
Physically inexpressable.

To see you Lost was frightening.
To see you Afraid, I was helpless.
To see you Sad was heartbreaking.
To see you Go...

Words seem meaningless.
Come back to me.
From the inside-out again.
