Tea with Pain
In this place I can feel it
I can feel it deep and wide-
All the pain that everyone
Tries so hard to get away from,
But in this place there's no need to hide.
The pain is different
To everyone who makes its aquaintance
It brings so many different things
What some find to be a lesson,
Some find only tragedy.
So it is treated differently
By everyone who makes its aquaintance
I'd like to make it a nice cup of tea
And hear it out with patience.
Oh pain, do you love me?
I could learn to love you, too
Because you make me look at things
And see their beauty through you.
So as my life goes on happily
And I remember when I made your aquaintance,
I see things differently
And if you feel you must return,
I'll put on the tea.
